I. What is a slurry pump? It is specifically designed to transport slurry containing solid particles: such as mineral slurry, tailings, mud, ash residue, coal sludge, sand and gravel, petroleum drilling mud, etc. Key features: wear-resistant, anti-blocking, capable of extracting impurities, and a water pump cannot do this.
II. Basic structure (remember these 6 points are enough): Impeller: the core working component, the most prone to wear; Cover / Turbine housing: the inner lining of the pump chamber, protecting the front and rear guard plates; Guard plate: protecting the two sides of the impeller, a wear-prone part; Pump body / Pump cover: the outer shell, the shaft, the bearing assembly: the transmission part; Sealing: preventing slurry leakage (packing seal / auxiliary impeller / mechanical seal).
III. Most important: Material (what customers care about the most) High-chromium alloy (Cr26/Cr27/Cr28) is the most wear-resistant, can withstand large particles and strong erosion: suitable for mining tailings, sand and gravel, petroleum sand pumps, ash residue; Rubber lining (natural rubber / neoprene): resistant to fine particles, corrosion-resistant, cheap and applicable: fine slurry, desulfurization slurry, weak acid medium; Stainless steel / duplex steel is corrosion-resistant, used in chemical industry, acidic slurry.
IV. Key performance parameters (must understand): Flow rate Q: how many cubic meters per hour (m³/h) can be pumped; Head H: how high and how far can it be pumped; Speed: the higher the speed, the greater the flow and head, but the faster the wear; Power: size of the motor; Efficiency: the same flow and head, the more energy-efficient is better; Cavitation margin: determines whether it can suck water and whether it will be empty.
V. Common types: Horizontal slurry pumps (ZJ, AH type) are the most commonly used; Vertical submersible pumps for tailings (SP, ZJL) are used in pools, without bottom valves, not afraid of flooding; Submersible slurry pumps for river dredging, sand pumping, fish pond sludge and sand gravel; Slurry pumps for pumping large pebbles, coarse sand, sea sand, petroleum sand pumps, used for drilling solid control systems, for transporting slurry and removing sand.
VI. Working principle (one sentence): The motor drives the impeller to rotate at high speed → generates centrifugal force → throws the slurry out → forms suction force to continuously pump slurry.
VII. Applicable industries (memorize them and you can get the orders): Mining: mineral processing, tailings transportation; Power: power plant ash removal, desulfurization slurry; Coal: coal washing plant, coal sludge, heavy medium metallurgy: steel slag, red mud, sludge; Dredging: river dredging, sand pumping, beach filling; Petroleum: drilling slurry, solid control system; Municipal: pile driving slurry, shield tunneling discharge.
VIII. Common faults (customers must ask): Insufficient flow, no pressure: air enters, bottom valve leaks, impeller blocked; Slurry leakage: seal broken, pressure cover loose, wear is fast; Material mismatch, solid content too high; Vibration is large: alignment is bad, bearing is broken, impeller is unbalanced; Bearing overheats: lack of oil, installation is off-center, overload.
IX. Difference from water pumps: Water pumps: afraid of particles, one grinding will break; Slurry pumps: specifically resistant to wear, wide flow channel, durable, not afraid of sludge.
X. Usage restrictions (very important): Do not allow idle rotation → seal and impeller cannot be directly burned; Import cannot be blocked; Do not allow air intake → insufficient flow cannot be achieved; Do not operate at low flow for a long time → overheating, vibration; Particles are too large, do not pump hard → block the pump, damage the impeller.
