The sealing of the SB series sand pumps adopts mechanical seals. The wear-resistant components are made of wear-resistant alloy cast iron. The base of the entire machine is cast as a single piece, ensuring a long service life and reliable performance.
The shaft seals of the SB series sand pumps are lubricated with grease; the bearings are lubricated with engine oil. There are grease nipples on the bearing covers at both ends of the bearings, and the bearings can also be lubricated with grease.

Structure composition, characteristics and working principle

 

The centrifugal sand pump mainly consists of pump casing, impeller, pump shaft, wear-resistant disc, sealing device, bearing housing, bearing, coupling, motor, base, etc.
The features of this series of centrifugal sand pumps are: (1) Open impeller, suitable for transporting high-viscosity drilling fluids; (2) Combined sealing, long service life; (3) All types of centrifugal pumps have common bearing housings, shafts and other components, making spare parts and maintenance convenient and cost-saving; (4) Main components are wear-resistant cast iron, resin sand precision cast, with long service life and beautiful appearance.
Working principle: The motor drives the pump shaft to rotate through the coupling. The shaft drives the impeller to rotate. The drilling fluid enters the pump from the suction port through the middle of the impeller. After passing through the flow channel in the impeller, under the action of centrifugal force, it gains energy and speed. It is continuously transported from the discharge port to the working machine through the pump casing.

Maintenance and upkeep

The seal of the centrifugal sand pump is a combined sealing device, mainly consisting of mechanical seals, packing, sealing box, packing compression sleeve, tightening bolts, and wear-resistant shaft sleeves, etc.
1. For new sand pumps or newly replaced mechanical seals, the main function of the mechanical seal is to provide sealing. Therefore, the packing gland must remain in a loose state to prevent overheating and avoid prematurely wearing out the wear-resistant shaft sleeve.
2. When the sand pump has been operating for about one year and the mechanical seal fails, the sealing function should be taken over by the packing. By tightening the bolts, the packing gland should be compressed to leak 3 to 8 drops per minute. If the packing gland cannot be adjusted, an additional packing (with a cross-section of 12×12) should be added promptly.
3. Once the wear-resistant layer (about 1mm) on the surface of the shaft sleeve is worn out, the mechanical seal and the wear-resistant shaft sleeve should be replaced promptly.
