Industrial Engineering: Solid Particle Liquid Transportation In industrial engineering, the fluid machinery that uses liquid to transport solid particles is called a solid-liquid two-phase flow pump, also known as an impurity pump. The impurity pump is a type of pump product suitable for transporting various shaped solid substances, such as tailings pumps used for transporting tailings in mines, slurry pumps used in coal washing plants, ash and slag pumps used in power stations for ash removal, and dredging pumps used for river dredging, etc. It has been widely applied in industries such as metallurgy, petrochemicals, food, and wastewater treatment, as well as port and river dredging operations. In the past 10 years, the pipeline transportation technology of solid substances in the mining and energy industries has developed rapidly, and the demand for impurity pumps has been increasing. At the same time, under the promotion of modern science and technology, impurity pumps tend to develop towards longer service life, higher efficiency, and multiple varieties. Currently, the three main types of impurity pumps used in various industries worldwide are centrifugal pumps, isolation pumps, and diaphragm pumps. Centrifugal impurity pumps are mostly of the centrifugal type. Centrifugal impurity pumps are divided into various types according to different uses, such as sewage pumps, gear pumps, slurry pumps, sand pumps, dredging pumps, and sand and gravel pumps. Centrifugal pumps in the petroleum industry: Electric submersible centrifugal pumps are a widely used type of rodless oil extraction equipment. They are lowered into the well with the motor and centrifugal pump connected to the tubing, and the motor is connected to the ground power source through a cable. The downhole unit of the electric submersible centrifugal pump consists of multiple stages of centrifugal pumps, protectors, and submersible motors. Electric submersible centrifugal pumps are particularly suitable for large flow rate oil well pumping in the middle and later stages of oilfield water injection development. With the continuous deepening of oil well exploitation, the oil and gas content in the oil wells gradually decreases. To fully carry out further exploitation, water injection and chemical agent addition should be carried out in the oil wells. High-power, high-pressure, and high-flow centrifugal pumps (multi-stage centrifugal pumps or high-speed centrifugal pumps) are key equipment for water injection.
