Open impeller slurry pump, with a semi open impeller structure, has strong adaptability and is suitable for transporting large particles and high concentration media. Open impeller slurry pump is widely used in complex working conditions such as river dredging, tailings mining, and commercial concrete tailings recovery.
Due to the absence of cover plates on both sides, the open impeller has a simple structure, is easy to manufacture, and is convenient for cleaning and maintenance. Open impeller slurry pumps are commonly used to transport high concentration slurry, but due to the limitations of their impeller structure, their conveying efficiency is low and the pressure of the conveyed liquid is not high. The open impeller is driven by a motor to rotate during operation, and the high-speed rotation of the impeller drives the surrounding slurry to rotate together.
The slurry at the center of the impeller moves towards the edge of the impeller under the action of centrifugal force, while its kinetic energy continues to increase, and finally the slurry enters the volute pump casing. During the movement inside the pump casing, due to the gradual increase of the pump casing flow channel, the flow velocity of the slurry gradually decreases and the static pressure energy gradually increases. Finally, the slurry is discharged from the discharge port of the pump at a certain pressure.
At the same time, due to the slurry being thrown out at the center of the impeller, its pressure becomes negative compared to atmospheric pressure. The slurry in the pump pool is pressed into the pump casing under the action of atmospheric pressure, and thus the open impeller slurry pump completes the transportation of the slurry. Due to the lack of cover plates on both sides of the open impeller, the impeller is not easily blocked. Therefore, the open impeller slurry pump is used to transport materials containing solid particles, fibers, suspended solids, easy crystallization, and easy solidification.
