Direction Of New Material Technologies

Jun 25, 2025

Research and Application of New Materials for Slurry Pumps primarily focus on wear resistance, corrosion resistance, high-temperature resistance, high-pressure resistance, ease of processing, low cost, and repairability. The research mainly follows two directions, with key tasks including:

Combining the development of new materials with the improvement of existing materials to create a variety of material types.

Conducting comprehensive studies on material performance characteristics, manufacturing processes, application effects, and failure causes.

Utilizing advanced methods such as numerical design, thermal simulation, and integrated metallurgical and process techniques.

I. Metal Material Technologies and Directions

1.Adjusting the alloy composition of existing materials to develop new materials and enhance related properties.

2.Applying resin sand molding in slurry pump casting processes to improve casting precision and quality.

3.Mechanically polishing surfaces and performing heat treatment to relieve stress, thereby increasing hardness and toughness.

4.Adding metal protective layers to material surfaces, such as spraying wear-resistant alloy powders.

5.Reducing the cost of wear-resistant and anti-cavitation non-ferrous metals while improving their wear resistance.

II. Non-Metal Material Technologies and Directions

1.Expanding material varieties. Internationally, pump linings have been developed using natural rubber, nitrile rubber, chloroprene rubber, butyl rubber, ethylene-propylene rubber, and other materials.

2.Although rubber materials are produced and applied domestically, there remains a gap in variety and quality compared to international standards.

3.Developing coatings and composite layers to enhance bonding strength and durability. This technology has gained attention globally and has seen increased application in recent years. However, due to technical limitations and cost-performance concerns, its adoption remains limited.

4.Engineering plastics and ceramic technologies have advanced rapidly in recent years. Some manufacturers showcased samples at the 2013 Beijing International Mining Equipment Exhibition.
